The best service, friendliest and clean guesthouse I have stayed in my life. Safe and near shopping centre as well as restaurants. Will never stay anywhere else again in Bloem, thank you Retha.

This was really, unexpectedly, the best breakaway weekend we had in a long time. Retha is a super host, clearly a perfectionist with great style and extremely professional service. You have complete privacy and cannot help but relax when you take your morning coffee in the beautiful garden. Brace yourself for the review of the room. I don’t even know where to begin. The kitchen is stocked with a range of very high quality coffees and teas, and some additional surprises in the fridge. There is also a iron and everything else you need. We came with our 3 year old and 7month old baby and she even thought to supply baby bottle cleaner and dishes for the kids. The bathroom has a range of luxury soaps and treats to choose from and the even remembered baby bath soap for our little one. The bathroom has high quality towels, a great bath and very nice shower. The room itself has a aircon, fireplace, television and is just in a class of its own with a king size bed beautiful bedding and even an orchid. There was nothing we needed that we couldn’t find. We will definitely be back to try the teas and bath treats we didn’t get to. This is now the only place we will stay when visiting Bloemfontein. We can’t thank you enough for a great stay and the surprise treats.

Extremely clean and neat. The surroundings are peaceful. Retha also suggested we visit Inni bos, a mere 1.3km from the guesthouse, where one can have something to eat or drink under the beautiful trees, or take a walk. The location is very convenient with quite a few shops and restaurants within 2km's.
Although breakfast is not served, Retha loves to treat her guests with a coffee and snacks tray in the morning. All in all excellent value for money. Thank you Retha .

Although both my stays were in transit between Joburg and Eastern Cape, I really enjoyed my stay.
The rooms are clean and there is an attention to detail when it comes to hospitality. I was also impressed with the host when it came to matters of disinfecting and social distancing, etc. As I was traveling during Covid Level 1.

We live in the Western Cape and visit our daughter who studies in Bloemfontein once a month. Since visiting Recato the first time more than a year ago we will not stay any where else. By far the cleanest guest house we have stayed in our lives.

I travel overseas once a month and have stayed in 5 star Hotels all over the world. Never been in a cleaner hotel/guesthouse in my life than Recato. Absolute value for money. Hostess thinks off everything. Can most definitely recommend Recato Guesthouse.
