The location and setting of the hotel is absolutely beautiful however service is non existent. Our dinner an absolute disaster, we had to confirm our choice of food as per the menu a few days before our arrival, anticipating delicious food we where so disappointed - not at all what the menu indicated we would have. Menu said marinated rack lamb served with herbed mash, creamy broccoli gratin, caramelised carrots and seasonal vegetables - we where served rice, carrots and a chop - as for the Cape Malay curry - well that’s was just a mess.

Very quiet for a nice break away from the city noise. Good service and food. Nice big rooms with 2 seperate bathrooms, one with bath and toilet, other one with double showers en toilet. Pool on your stoep and buck sometimes coming as close as the door to you!

The property is charming and the attention to detail is evident in the design. It has a lovely Colonial feel to it. We did not have much interaction with any of the staff members during our visit other than the chef relaying the menu to us before we commenced with our 7 course degustation. While I can appreciate conserving the memories of yesteryear in their dishes, their menu lacked the the tantalising bites that dazzle the palate as many other tasting menus and 7 course degustations do. I had also mentioned ahead of time that we were celebrating my mother's 70th birthday that evening. It would have been an appropriate touch if there was some mention or attention to her celebration but sadly none. A 4-star establishment that is firmly rooted in 5-star price range.
Additional signage boards need to put up in order to arrive at the property without a wrong turn.

One of the few places where you can truly experience fine dining in Bloemfontein. The food was well presented and very tasty. Our waiter, Joseph, was great. Would recommend to any foody in Bloem to visit this hidden gem. Its located in Woodland Hills Estate so you need to get a code to enter the estate from the restaurant before going to the hotel. It also has 5 rooms available.
