I had an awesome time ay Morningstar Airfield.
The overall experience of calm organization is evident made me feel very confident that it was well
My first flight in a light aircraft was one of the most exciting experiences of my life.
It was so interesting to see all the checks and balances that are necessary for the pilot to go through, before and after the flight.
A huge vote of thanks go to Richard Cooper for inviting me to go in his fabulous Sling aircraft and his patience in explaining what the protocol he was required to follow.
It was great enjoying discussing the flight over a delicious cup of coffee in the restaurant after the aircraft was carefully wheeled back into the hanger.

Morning Star Airstrip is situated on the N7 High Way Cape Town South Africa.
Its an Airport for small air craft. You can taxi to take off???? and land???? and its more for your flying enthusiast that owns his/her own small aircraft. It has a clubhouse with a resturant????. Generally people are friendly and their are many different types of small air craft to view and have a conversation about.
Morning Star Airport???? scores an 8 on my review scale????????.

Really great scout courses here. I’ve done air navigator, air mechanic, aviation skills at Morningstar and they have all been pleasant badges.

First experience in a small plane and its was plain and simply absolutely amazing ????

Super organised for the surprising amount of traffic, spotless hangers.

Albeit scary in such a small plane I felt completely safe.

How do you not like an airfield, but I did find it a bit deserted, windy and the clubhouse was closed. Being able to buy a cup of coffee would have been nice. Flying from strips like this cuts out all the taxing time you will usually experience at the bigger airports like Cape Town International. You're airborne in no time and the views of the Cape are magnificent. The folk are friendly too which is great. Commuting to the field is a breeze via the N7. Contact the folk at Sideslip for your introductory flight and take that first step towards your dream of flying
