Big thank you to Johan the caretaker. Extremely knowledgeable, he took the time to give us a tour and show us the various memorials on site - all related to the South African Air Force. The main building representing a fighter plan, with wings pointing to Durban, CT u0026 Polokwane, and the red tiles representing fallen soldiers.
Memorial is open 7 days a week until 330pm. The memorial and surrounds are in pristine condition, with a good view of the Air Force Base.

I have seen this place many times from a distance and finally took the time to drive in. Beautiful design and setting, but it could probably be kept a little better. It is striking to see how many people have laid down their lives for “some cause” and you have to ask yourself whether it was really worth it…..

Very beautiful and nicely done memorial. Peaceful with plenty of green space. I think it was really nice to put it where it overlooks the air base.

Beautiful monument that must be preserved for the futur.

Grounds were clean and grass was cut, main building locked but otherwise it looks like someone is looking after this piece of history.

Not very clean and not well looked after. It's a shame that nobody takes pride in our heritage????
