This place was such a pleasant and beautiful experience. My kids absolutely loved every moment of it and especially enjoyed getting so close to the zebra's. We got to see some wildlife, had a lovely picnic at 1 of the picnic sites which was very neat and had toilet facilities available as well as tap right next to where we sat. We drove around the reserve and the roads were well maintained. I can't wait to go back and do some hiking, they even have cycling trails. I would highly recommend spending the day there with your family????

Lovely time was had by my wife and I. R50 entry for each adult. Beautiful trails, saw 3 different kind of buck and we saw zebras. Trails are well marked out and theres beautiful stops along the trails with benches and trash bins. Well maintained and kept and we felt very safe. Well worth the money paid.

Beautiful nature reserve . The castle isn't open unless an appointment is book . Entrance is R40 adults R20 kids. Lots of places to explore loved the old buildings surrounding the castle. The hikes are easy and kids can even manage just watch out for snakes . The zebras are beautiful and roam freely . Lots of buck and bird life. Carry a picnic and relax and the many picnic spots.

Entry fee of R50 per adult and R20 per child.

There are bike and hiking trails however the roads are mostly damaged and not really suitable to risk driving far into the reserve.
There is a picnic spot near the entrance and sign boards that indicate the type of wildlife that you may encounter.

If you are able to drive right up, to the "TOP PICNIC" site, it really is a great spot with 3 separate braai spots. The middle spot has a large group seating area around a campfire setup.
Toilets available at this spot and you may spot a few zebra along the way.

Just like the roads, ypu will find many dilapidated buildings and kids playing along the road. Unfortunately the castle / museum was closed when we visited.

If tranquility is what you're looking for then look no further. A picturesque nature reserve boasting pristine views and wildlife. A coffee shop is perfectly situated within the reserve, where you can sit under the trees whilst satisfying your sweet tooth.

A lovely area to trail walk, we took our braai things and made it a days outing. Various routes to choose from, it was very pleasant and felt like you could be in another country walking through the woods.
