What a marvelous experience! From walking in the tracks of yester year to a western province supporter waving a flag next to the track. Scenic route. Informative knowledgeable guide. A competent train driver. Valuable historical facts were shared and could be viewed in the museum. A must do when visiting George, Garden Route

2nd time as good as the 1st time. It's important to plan for good weather and we nailed the weather. The views were great. The staff were knowledgeable and assisted the elderly. There are tours at 9:00 and 12:00. Not sure if there is any thing in the later afternoon.

It feels like you go back in time. What a pleasant experience! We got to see the beauty of the Outeniqua mountain range close up and had a stop for a quick picnic (pack your own food and cutlery) half way up. The tunnel experiences are awesome and a treat for the little ones!

Tip for Outeniqua Power Van: Please ask a booking fee. Unfortunately the majority of people are selfish and ignorant and will not fulfil their booking unless its paid for beforehand.

Tip for passengers: we realised that other passengers "booked" beforehand and simply did not show up (not even the decency to inform anyone that they won't make it). Meanwhile, the conductor showed other potential passengers away thinking that they were fully booked. If you can't keep your booking, please respect other people's time and money.

This was an awesome experience! The tour guide was a wealth of knowledge and were able to bring history alive. The plants, ferns, flowers and especially the King Protea and Moss Lilly were breathtaking beautiful.

A great way to experience George. The guide was very knowledgeable, and it was interesting to hear about the history of how people and goods travelled through the Outeniqua mountains. Seeing the flowers and trees on the way was also a beautiful sight to behold
