Very friendly, hospitable and welcoming, but feels tired, and the buildings are overdue for renovation and refurbishment. Too much is being done on the cheap. Wish l could recommend, but l can't.

This place will always be special to us. Stayed in our favourite room once again...still as comfortable as it was. Thanks Christo the breakfast was lovely too. ????

My previous one star rating was changed to two stars because of excellent PR from Mangolds Guesthouse. I have previously given the guesthouse a bad rating because the next mornings breakfast, which was left in the room the previous night, consisted of cereal, a fruit and a sandwich which turned out to have small ants all over it. I received a call from the guesthouse explaining the situation. Renovations was under way so there were no facilities for making a hot breakfast. According to the caller, the situation is back to normal. I would have considered a three star rating if I was given a heads-up about the situation when the booking was made. I also suspect their standard rate was applied despite guests' inconvenience.

Far from the madding crowd; feels like home after a hard day's work. Proximity to all amenities...ideal! Holiday itenerary can be exhausting, have some peace and quite after hours
