Whether you are there for business or pleasure, this is the place you want to be if you want to feel comfortable in your own skin. Owners are friendly and helpful. It is a home away from home. The Harris family makes you feel at home and cared for.

This was our second overnight stay with John and Marilyn and once again they didn't disappoint.
I needed to be near the Life St George's Hospital - Valley Guest House is perfectly situated. The peace and quiet was exactly what was needed after a minor operation at the day hospital.
The room met all our requirements - clean and spacious, en-suite bathroom (with towels, soaps, shampoo, conditioner and sanitiser), fridge, TV, AMAZINGLY comfortable bed, tea/coffee AND access to crockery, cutlery, and condiments, as we chose to have a small meal in the room.
We needed to leave very early in the morning and Marilyn was up with her big smile and chatty personality to wish us on our way!
The guest house was recommended to us by friends and we have in turn recommended the guest house to other friends.
We'll DEFINITELY book here again.

Very friendly owners.
Enjoyed the breakfast.
The area is quiet.

Everything was perfect except for the following:

1. The room I stayed in was a basement-type room. With a wooden floor, one can hear every footstep taken in the lounge above.
2. The room was not well airated. So it had a slightly mouldy smell. The owners should ensure that it is well ventilated.
3. The bed linen was clean and crisp, but the bed was concave.

Overall, the charm or the owners and the area were a good experience. Because of the issues with the room, I am unlikely to use it again though.

Set in a wild indigenous garden with beds I actually go to sleep in. John and Marilyn are very knowledgeable about Port Elizabeth and the surroundings. Good value for money - breakfast will set you up for the day.
