We have Folk u0026 Goode Beers on tap at Hickville Smokehouse just off the N2 in Elgin and are receiving VERY GOOD feedback from our patrons on their products (specifically the IPA and the Rooibos and Honey Ale).

By word-of-mouth we started hearing about the Folk u0026 Goode brewery and their great beers, and I decided to get in contact with them to see if it would be possible to do a tasting with them. I contacted them via their website and I got a very quick response and started arranging for a tasting. The brewery is located in the Mimosa Industrial Park in Hermanus and is easy to find. Although the brewery is small and not really set up for tours and tastings, we got a full tour and proceeded to do a tasting of their beers as well. We got to taste their English Pale Ale, Belgian Witbier, American IPA, Irish Stout and Barrel Release. All of their beers are tasty and of a very high quality with the IPA and Stout (one of the best ones I have tasted) being the true winners of the day for me. From start to finish the entire experience was very personal and in-depth. It was great to see the "raw" brewing process and to gain understanding of how labor intensive an operation of that size is. Their passion and love for beer was felt throughout the tour and in their beers. It was a pleasure to visit them and I just want to thank Peter and Karen for opening their doors to us. Discovered this brewery at the Cape Town beer festival as I haven't seen them around as yet. Turns out they were only a few months old. They have 5 beers (Witbier, Pale Ale, American IPA, Stout and a special barrel fermented batch. They were all great and unique, but the American IPA is the one that stood out for me. The witbier on the other hand will be perfect on a hot summer day. I got their contact information at the festival and we booked a tour on site (even though they are not officially open for tastings). We got a tasting and a personal and very detailed tour of their brewery by Peter himself. Can't wait for them to expand as we will defininetly be visiting again.
