An alternative approach to Rotary Way is via the 'backdoor', using the MTB route that snakes up the the back of the mountain from the Rose Road turnoff near the Plasskomuis restaurant in the Hermel 'n Aarde valley. Nb MTB permits are required and are available from the Wine Village at the Hemel' 'n Aarde Centre

Perfect view, you can see the whole Hermanus from up there. Clean and beautiful. All the flowers, and scenery is amazing.
