Had an awesome three course lunch at Spookfontein Wine Estate, the perfect afternoon. The service was really good and the recommendations made by the waitress really excellent. A must visit wine estate in the Hemel and Aarde Valley with expansive views. The Merlot Rose and Phantom wines are recommended.

Spookfontein Restaurant is on the Hemel and Aarde road up from Hermanus with the most beautiful view over the valley.
Not only is the position of the restaurant of note but so too is the food.... Really good!

The 2 red wines on the menu are worth mentioning as well.

As a result the restaurant is busy so probably better to book in advance.

Visit here for a memorable experience - you will not be disappointed.

We were very hungry when we got to Spookfontein restaurant, so everything tasted delicious ;)
The dumplings were a big hit as well as the battered hake and chips. We did not enjoy their wines that much.
Service was also friendly and efficient

We enjoyed our time in a very good location, a great view and very good food.
I recommend to visit the winery and to have lunch at the place.
One of the best Ramem we have ever tasted

Views, phenomenal. Staff were working alot more inside than outside. We ordered the ramen, which was very expensive (around R220) and unfortunately extremely bland, the eggs were cold and the broth tasteless. Sad for this food experience at that price (it did LOOK very tasty)

This restaurant is awesome in every way. It is an awesome setting with terrific views down the valley, it is breathtaking. The room itself is also gorgeous, with lovely wrap around decks and very comfortable seating.
The food is excellent - we loved every bite, and the wine is also terrific. The warm and professional service was very accommodating. Highly recommended.

Wonderful setting, exceptional views, stylish building, very good food (small menu covering vegetarian and meat but majoring on seafood) and exceptional wines. You can do a tasting at the table.
