The room was bigger than I expected and very clean. The receptionist (Bonga) was very helpful and very kind. He even assisted me with a night lamp which was much appreciated. Over all I really enjoyed my stay will definitely be coming back some day.

We booked and payed for three nights, but we run out after one night. The place is dirty, dusty walls, uncovered electric wires (my son got a slight electric shock), bed sheets covered with stains.. not even close to the pictures they are publish. The place is in a busy street, on the positive side it is hectic and full of energy but very noisy.

Horrible don't even think about it,what's on the internet is not whats there in real life . Hated my stay ,firstly I had to wait at reception cause the guys we running up and down doing other things. The rooms were not that cleaning it smelt horrible the stench stayed on our clothes the entire stay. It's not safe you have students hosting parties not happy with what I got nothing worked there, no TV,no aircon ,broken tables and dirty utensils.

The rooms are clean and big. They work together with Curiocity Backpackers. Unfortunately the tv didn't work. We got a key that you can open all the other rooms, super strange! We told them this at the reception, it doesn't feel save that everybody can enter each others rooms.. They told us that they will change our key, but they didn't. Another thing was that there is a lot of noice because of all the bars outside. And also there is a lot of the time nobody available at the reception.

If I could leave zero stars I would. From poor communication and customer service to terrible Wi-Fi, I could truly share 100 reasons why one should stay away from this God-forsaken establishment. I planned to stay until December in one of the penthouses on the 7th floor - but I cut my stay short after only one week. For starters, I was quoted R10000, which was then increased to R12000 (one can only assume it’s because I’m American). I let that go because I truly loved the apartment. The apartment was fine, but it could be cleaned and organized a bit. The lights in the living room didn’t work and had to be replaced (this didn’t happen until the next day). The noise is literally insane. It’s like you’re in the club across the street. Noise reducing windows could help this. The other issue is safety - security LETS ANYONE IN. And I mean ANYONE. The lobby area is filled with locals who have access to everyone floor of the hotel. There are no clearances or security measures in place in one of Johannesburgs most dangerous neighborhoods. And then there is the Wi-Fi - which would automatically cut out because “two many users would sign on.” And once you alert staff, it will be an hour before you hear back. Before moving in, I explained that I would never stable Wi-Fi and they assured me that it would work. The Wi-Fi went out everyday during my week long stay. Thank God for Kay who was super accommodating and helpful - though there was very little he could do. I was forced to work from PataPata for hours because the building wifi wouldn’t work. When I told them I had to leave because the building isn’t safe and the Wi-Fi doesn’t work, instead of being accommodating and apologetic and charged me the prorated rate, the charged me almost R1000 per day for the 7 days i was there. On the day I was moving out, I misplaced the key and they made me pay R350 to change the lock. WHAT HOTEL DOESN’T HAVE SPARE KEYS? And what hotel makes guests pay to change the locks?

Although customer service is AWFUL and the staff never replies in a timely manner (or at all), I just say that Kay is truly a gem. He is literally the best thing that happens to this place. PLEASE GIVE HIM A RAISE. He was so kind and compassionate and did everything he could to help me during this horrible experience. Very grateful for him. Bonga is nice too.

Let’s be honest, they will probably ignore this review like they ignore my text messages about Wi-Fi not working.

The room looked super cool, absolutely unique with the art pieces. Beautiful view. Most comfortable bed. Great amenities.
The shower was a let down. A bit of maintenance is required on it or even replace the tiling completely and sort out the drain. The TV was not working. But overall a good budget place for an overnight stay

Cultural places and artistic accommodations, too bad the heaters didn't work and some light bulbs were missing in the room
