For some reason it’s difficult to find a kosher place that does fries well. Phat Larry’s is really the only mainstream place that’s kosher that seasons your fries! They get good marks for quick service, great fries, and ok ambience. Location is good, too. Unfortunately, the praise stops there. The pizza was mediocre at best. Crust was mostly flavorless, like it was some kind of commercial production (barely browned). Sauce and cheese were eh. For those looking for a good kosher pizza, the best in South Africa is Michelo’s (but it’s not world-class by any means).

I took my family to Phat Larry’s for the first time. It was simply outstanding. The pizzas were excellent and the salad was fresh! Our waiter was on the ball and also friendly, which is rare these days. I will definitely be going back with my family…and friends.

Best kosher pizza pasta and salad restaurant in Johannesburg and value for money. Larry is such a mensch to deal with. Nothing is ever to big or small for him. We had the most delicious salads and shared a pizza. Top class. Really!! Keep it up.

Had such a wonderful evening at Phat Larry’s. All our food was absolutely delicious. Fresh and tasty. Lovely variety on the menu. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back.

I absolutely love this place! We ordered the spaghetti bolognaise the other day. It's made fresh, it's sooo tasty, and the portions are really generous. Their pizzas are also brilliant, thin based and tasty (and I'm such a fussy pizza eater). I highly recommend. There's a bar on site too so you can have a beer with your pizza. :D

Had excellent meals at Phat Larry's two nights in a row - the salads were generous and super fresh and the dressing was fabulous. The pizzas were really delicious, the roast tomato, pepper and mushroom fettuccini was flavorsome and outstanding, their skinny fries are awesomely spiced , the service was great as was the vibe with both staff and with customers singing! Well worth a visit!
