I've generally had a great experience at Nelmed with all the exceptional doctors.
However this is the second time its happening.
I made an appointment and was told to sit down until my name was called.
As I'm writing this I've been sitting for 50 minutes.
What is the point of making an appointment if you're just simply going to make we wait just like everyone else.
The point of an appointment is to LIMIT the time spent sitting.
My appointment was for 10h30 itbis not 11h27
All other medicrosses accros the country adhere to the first preference are those with appointments regardless of how many people came before and waited.

How do i explain to my boss for taking an hour long for a consultation which should've been 15 minutes at bezt because I told her I made an appointment.

Nelmed robbed me of R190. Went to Nelmed at 12pm only to be told they are full. The receptionist said i must come back at 5pm-6pm. Came back at 5pm only to be told consultation times end at 5pm. They proceeded to say that I should've made an online appointment. Had to pay R190 extra just for a walk in after 5pm. A complete rip off from professionals. Absolutely disgraceful

Getting charged R190 after hours fee at 10am on a Sunday? The receptionist behaving like we bothering their day. I have been waiting for my sick note for two days now for work and still nothing even after I have contacted the Dr on email and telephonically and also the reception. I keep getting transferred left and right.
Unacceptable.

Customer service at its lowest... No manners. Despite being a worried spouse who visited the clinic in an emergency, I was asked to leave without even being greeted. First impressions are lasting ones, you might have great doctors but people won't get to see them for being disrespected by your Frontline.

Great medical practice. It has managed to keep an old world doctor patient interaction despite being a large commercial concern. Despite having my doctor of choice I've seen a good range of doctors in the practice and have not had a bad experience from any of them.

I've noticed a lot of critism of the reception staff. In defence of Nelmed they are extremely busy and walk in/emergency patients (as I have been on several occasions) to put a lot of strain on front desk.

One critism I have is the lack of parking.

Took my two little ones to Nelmed over the festive season after we were in a non-severe car accident. Unfriendly receptionists and a particularly sour doctor been seen, oh not to mention nearly R800 later to check-maybe 5 minutes-that my two kids-both under 2-were ok after the accident, we left. Im glad I don't live in Nelspruit!! I also only booked for one of my kids thinking its a quick check-up; but as soon as the sour doctor realised there is another child and another money-making opportunity, she dropped everything and called the receptionist to update the statement to two check-ups not one!! Avoid this place if ur in a good mood or don't have money to waste!
