Our first visit to Africa and Oudtshoorn. Hosts Phil and Linda were friendly, helpful and run a very professional guest house. Our bedroom was well equipped, clean and comfortable with the benefit of quiet and efficient air conditioning.
Comfortable seats on the shaded verandah and a refreshing pool with sun loungers were appreciated, as was the secure parking. Similarly the bar and excellent breakfast. Altogether an outstanding place to stay.

This was our second visit to Phil and Linda at Gumtree Guest House. As before, our hosts were super, helping us not only with the usual things like dinner reservations but also route planning in the area; Phil is a 4x4 enthusiast and is very knowlegable about the local back roads. Comfortable air conditioned rooms, an excellent breakfast, a pool, secure parking, places to eat within walking distance and excellent hosts made our visit thoroughly enjoyable.

Whenever I go to oudtshoorn again this is where im staying, home away from home! Excellent service from the host! ❤ so neat and tidy, and accomodating! And oh the breakfast is super delicous! Thank you so much Phill and Linda! ????

Stunning pool area and beautiful room. Every detail was thought of to make the stay easy and enjoyable, they even provided international adaptor plugs. There is a lovely sitting area outside the rooms with super comfy chairs. The garden leads down to a gorgeous pool area. The hosts went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable, this rivals any 5 star hotels I have been to, I can't recommend it enough!

Phil and his wife were ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! They were so helpful and friendly.

Phil just knew everything there was to know about traveling around this area. He gave us so many suggestions and good advices about where to go and what to see. Before we left and traveled to our next destination, the owners asked us where we were going and gave us even more restaurant recommendations for our next stop. It was amazing. We took their suggestions and weren’t disappointed. They are genuinely good people.

The breakfast was also outstanding. They use local products! Lots of things to choose from and I left with a very happy stomach. BONUS: electric heated mattresses! So nice for those cold cold nights.
