Honestly this was unpleasant. The receptionist greeted us with the invoice in hand in order to settle the balance of payment (deposit paid earlier). This is unusual as I am used to settling when checking out. But no matter, we asked if we could just cool off as it was 40*C and humid outside. She agreed and offered to wait till the morning.

We had to speak to her twice that day. Once to ask for towels and then to note that there was no hot water. Both times she waited until I finished talking, then asked if I am going to pay the balance of the invoice... And we never had hot water the whole weekend. Would not recommend.

The decor is very outdated and the bathroom is communal. The pool was nice, which was the only positive.

We stayed over Christmas time and the hosts went way above our expectations to provide a fantastic Christmas lunch, with every trimming imaginable. We were there again in February as well and will recommend The Guesthouse to everyone. It is homely, although professional. Welcoming, fun and close to many places of interest. There are ongoing improvements which can only add value to the property and services offered. What a breath of fresh air and superb hospitality we have received every time. Thank you to all. Hope to see you again soon

The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately the owners will have to urgently upgrade the accommodation. It is well below standard and we checked out after the first night. It's a pity because all the staff are so nice.

Horrible. Got our room key and went to my nieces 21st. Arrived back at guest house around midnight. Room smelt terrible. Bed looked and smelt as if it had been slept in. Chose instead to drive back to Middelburg and not stay over. Owner says tough .... we booked the room, we pay for it. Disgusting. Don't waste your money.

Crane's Nest Guesthouse @ 212 is a very lovely, homely environment to stay at for any leisure, business reasons. It's closely situated to Brooklyn Mall for any shopping reasons you have. The rooms at Crane's Nest Guesthouse @212 are beautiful, neat and comfortable. The staff at this guesthouse are very friendly and they are willing to help with any question you might have to ask. I enjoyed my stay at this guesthouse and i will come back to visit them again.

Great guest house, used it for several years. It can be a bit tatty around the edges. Good secure fencing, in a good area. Good restaurants and shopping nearby. Opposite a nice little bird sanctuary with a hide.
