I wish i didn't have to do this.But...The owner does not know what is going on at his guesthouse.The lady booked me ,i paid her in full amount on may 10th.We did ask her throughout the week just before we had to leave for sports to bloemfontein,she said no youre stil booked everything stil good.So on the day we were on our way to bloemfontein,she sent me a message that she moved us to another guesthouse,i was lie what!!! So there was alot of excusses3 whule i was adressing the why and the how...Nothing made Sense so i phoned the lady where she moved us to and she said shw could only help us for one night not for the rest of the week So we didn't have any other place to sleep..All guesthouses were fully booked or to expensive.We had a budget.So now we had to pay extra l i phoned alot of guesthouses on our trip to bloemfontein.The lady did refund us but the the fact that i paid on May and she told me on the day we dont have a place to sleep was unacceptable There are bad roomers going around and she refuses to give the number of her brother the owner who lives in Capetown.No one needs to bother him was the words. So im really sorry for the review but Lady you are causing your brother or brother inlaw his guesthouse.

HALDON ESTATE.... Beautiful venue level of service from the host.... Non existing. Food was excellent but this was made by the brides mother and grandmother. Dog on the premises bit a guest. Owners child between guests throws a stone at a child broken areas in face. Asked for plasters or bandage still waiting on a response. Keep your pets and kids away from the booked area. Owner could not care less. If you have a function show your face check on the guests. Venue did pre drinks and canapés. Not sufficient for each guest you had the invited list. Why try and get involved with functions and weddings when you not in control.Maybe blame it on Covid? Fortunately the guests were great and enjoyed the wedding. Bride looked stunning with all her bridesmaids and groom with his best men. I salute the parents for handeling the problem areas as the hosts of the venue was in hiding. Not recommended at all unless you do everything yourself. The brides mother was clearing tables up and down to get things done. Thank heavens for the great group of guests... Oh and the waterpipe that burst.... Wetting guests "so funny" and a table. Host could have come to dry the table but just preferred to ignore the situation once again guests had to resolve the problem. If you into surprises as the evening goes and no hostess available this is the venue for you.... That is if you can get into the gate as you call to open and you just wait and wait and wait. If you expect guests put someone there to give easy access to your premises. Hope you take this as positive criticism.

Booked through Booking.com and received this highly unprofessional response demanding upfront payment due to a late booking. I called and had to speak to Michele Pretorius who hasn't the faintest idea what customer service is

What a lovely romantic stay with a value for money picnic basket, the hostess was very accommodating and friendly. The gardens is spectacular.
