Naval Hill Nature Reserve

Naval Hill is a lovely small nature reserve in centre of Bloemfontein. throughout the year it is a amazing place to relax and enjoy a beautiful (small) game drive. One could also hike, run, or bike around on top of the mesa as the round route is just 5km. Moreover it is important to mention that while doing this one should respects the personal space of the larger game such as giraffes, wilder beasts, ostrich, and zebra's.

Always enjoy coming here for a sunset drive. The reserve was previously very well maintained but recently it has been looking like it needs some cleaning up. Overall, it’s a great place to come and observe animals (zebras, giraffes and wildebeest). It’s also very popular with runners!

Best place to go during the day in Bloemfontein to see wildlife. It is a 5km drive on top.

Nice view over Bloemfontein from top and big statue of Nelson Mandela. No entry fee. Can drive or walk to top

Can't really comment on my experience because we took a chance and went with our Staffie who is on a road trip with us. The security at the gate was very friendly and kindly notified us that dogs are not allowed, not even if she stayed with one of in the car. But will definitely come to see the statue next time

Beautiful nature reserve with wild animals, great views and lots of places to run and cycle.

Always a nice stop when driving through Bloem. Just when you think you won't see any giraffe then they surprise you. They mostly hide around the planetarium side.
