I took some lessons at Gary’s and had so much fun. Brandon is a great instructor and gives you a lot of confidence! For any regards there’s Marc who will answer all your questions and advise you on the right board! He’s always down for a quick chat and to tell you about the wave forecast. Overall this place felt like my second home during my holidays and I would always come back here :)

We surfed with Matt (Gary's Son) on 27/2 and 1/3 on various beaches around Cape Town. On the first trip, Matt picked us up from our accommodation and drove us around the peninsula to sight-see and scope out the surfing conditions. We had a great time with Matt as he gave us subtle instructions but also took some wicked photos/videos of us surfing. We highly recommend Matt and Gary's Surf Shop for your surfing experience in Cape Town!

Best surf school I know.
I can highly recommend it.
Very friendly, professional and happy teacher.
Not only a surf shop and surf school. You can book surf trips as well.

Such nice people running Gary's and working here. Would definitely recommend if you're deciding between the different surf shops at Surfers Corner. I took several lessons and progressed quite a bit with them.

My daughter joined on Matt's kids surf holiday camp this week and she had an absolute ball. Her confidence in the water improved so much and she was catching waves on her own in no time! Thanks so much to Matt, Brandon, Jason and Kelly. Amazing and encouraging coaches. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Matt to anyone who is wanting to learn to surf!
