Been going to this wonderful reserve for years. You can buy an annual membership card for individuals and families...well worth it if you live in the area or visit regularly.
This weekend I visited for the first time since the fire in June. The reserve was ravaged but signs of new growth are everywhere. Gloriously green ferns and other hardy plants blanket the ground. The abundant watsonias are going to be stunning when they flower.
Kudos to staff and volunteers for all their work in getting the trails sorted so we can hike. They are not done with the work yet, but I spent a few peaceful hours meandering through the reserve. Sometimes it was eerily quiet, sometimes I heard birdsong. And here and there a pop of pretty colour as flowers emerge from the scorched ground.
The new Eco Centre is amazing. I need to make time to visit it properly.
