My mom suffered a major stroke last night, seeing a Doctor took quite some time due to their workload, but she has been receiving amazing assistance since seeing a doctor. Doctors keep you informed of progress and issues, all role players from Emergency Centre to planning for recovery and therapy when moved to the General Ward in about 3 days has been on point. Would definitely recommend this hospital. Keep up the good work!

Most of the Staff and Dr try and you can see they do and are willing.
But this is such a Small amount.
It is like no matter what your position you must play Boss.
When has it changed that a Patient in a Hospital is not a Client and basically have no rights.
One who I would like to ask the is a female nurse or whatever.
Rude and just not nice person.
Will look you in the face and walk on and then come back RUDE.
I'm injured and sore and going on 3 days in ER.
Trying my best but the system is broken.
They bring you food and no utensils.
People scream for help to go to bathroom !
No worries just hold on.
30 Min later the same patient has wet and made no 2 in the bed.
20 plus other patients gets 5o sit with smell ex.
The system is broken.

This broken system is there to fix and help Broken Patients.

How can this be when the system is more broken than Patients that is already Dead !!

Sad but true

Spent 12 hours without getting any assistance. Worst service you will come across. Doctors are less helpful and service socks. It took them over12 hours to assist 8 people with minor issues. No communication, people's files go missing in wards. The lady next to me has been here over17 hours, they don't know where file is. She is sleeping on the batches. God does not exist in this buildings. Bad service, worst u will ever come across.

Heartbroken and Traumatized

My Dad spent +/_ 2weeks in a ward being treated for a stroke - he was paralyzed and speech was badly affected.
My brothers and mother had to go and "work" there - get our Dad to the toilet, bathe, change diapers and feed him everyday. Sisters, Nurses and staff do not take care of patients, they have become inhumane and have no empathy. The system is broken and these health workers must be broken for this to happen!
My Dad was then moved on to their Stroke Rehabilitation Facility where he received theraphy.
He made very good progress until one day, my brother noticed that he was declining. He alerted the nurses whom then told him that he was being paranoid and needs to stop stressing. My brother (not a Doctor) strongly suspected an infection. A few days later we received a call to say that our Dad was sent to ER. He remained in ER for 2 nights where we could not go and see him. We called the hospital and could not get real answers because a Doctor had not seen to him yet. Last call to the hospital we where told he is in a ward now and that we could visit.
I arrived with my Mother - we found my Dad DEAD in bed after he had just been placed in a ward from ER. Parts of his body was still warm as we desperately tried to wake him. I ran to call for help, nurse just said to me "and now" as she moved very slowly to get the Sister on duty.

Not a call or word from the ER to say that my Dad could possibly not make it due to whatever?? they treated him for in ER????? This loss could very possibly have been prevented if only the nurses would have listened to what my brother suspected.
Our Goverment hospitals once where the best, and one realize that they do not have the tools, funding and support needed. Overworked, desensitized, "some" lazy health workers, void of empathy and a stressed system does not save lives - it KILLS!!!!!

Pathetic! Pathetic! Pathetic!!!!!!!
It doesn’t even deserve a 1 star!!!
My grandmother (82 years) was sitting in a chair since 04:00 until now (11:32) and they still had not admitted her!!!!!
We are now removing her from this hospital because she’d be better off at home.

How does this hospital get away with it????

Now I know why my grandfather refers to this hospital, as the death hospital!!!!!!

Good Morning

While sitting outside in the cold for 3 hours with my 36week pregnant Fiancé we thought that we should share our experience with someone hopefully able to take action, to make things better for all pregnant women out there.

I'll start from the beginning... After my fiance constantly visiting the bathroom from feeling nauseous, we realized that we should get a pregnancy test. Of course it came back with positive which was great news for us. Unfortunately during this time we both ended up without a paying job. We were told that we should visit a clinic nearest to our home, in this case it was Goodwood (western cape, Cape Town). What a pleasant experience, they were extremely helpful, we waited inside for no longer that 15minutes and were helped through all the necessary processes. We were then told that moving forward we have to go to the Elsies River Clinic (Western Cape, Cape Town) this is where the experience became worse but not too bad, they took long but atleast prioritized pregnant women. I as the father/fiance of course was told to wait outside, unfortunately I have no car so stood outside for 4 hours, in 7degree weather. Not too bad, considering my fiance was ok and warmer inside.

On Tuesday 14th June 2022, after doing all check ups at Elsies River, we were told to come to Karl Bremer the Friday, 17th June 2022, for a SCAN.

Now my wife has been here since before 7am (time of appointment 7am) waiting outside in the cold windy weather with most of the other pregnant women till 9:30am, waiting and waiting, not being told what is going on, what time she'll be helped or what is going to happen. Eventually I went inside and complained to the lady at the door. She sent me to window 4 eventually after me telling her that my wife is experiencing contractions and pain due to the cold weather outside.

I stood in que and eventually was able to speak to the lady at window 4, after explaining the situation she told me that my wife's number has not been called and that her number is 39, I then said I'd like an answer as too how long and what this process will consist of. She sent me into the Pre natal side to look for Sister Shilder. After navigating my own way thier I found her, she was extremely Un helpful and basically told me that I must wait untill her number gets called. She said that they were currently at number 20... This means that statistically we would be here waiting for atleast another 4 hours.

My fiance now continues to wait, needing to use the toilet. In pain, sore buttocks just for a scan. This seriously needs to be addressed, God forbid anything happens to the pregnant women sitting in the cold with their unborn child/children because who know who will take the blame.
