Awesome place on the beach with great food. Everything was fresh and the owners are a friendly bunch of people that are passionate about food and quality of food. A must stop on my next visit to Cape Town. We returned to the restaurant 3 times since we have been in Cape Town for the holidays. Best fish and chips ever. Fresh, large hake and the burgers are great as well. Highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for good quality food at fair prices.

On my travels around our beautiful country I found this Cafe.....and have visited several times since! The food is deeeelicious!!! The service is impeccable!!! The view through CLEAN windows outside is to die for and the ambience of people relaxing and chatting just draws you back everytime! Don't miss out when you're in Gordon'sbay!

Found the Old Cape Café on GoogleMaps and the number of vehicles parked outside confirmed its likely to be the spot to go.
We received a very warm welcome from a gentleman, dressed in a tie nogal !, It was one of those wet and breezy Cape mornings, not the kind of weather we ‘binnelaanders’ are used to so the fire inside was very welcome. Some visitors seem to be born in a barn, so we were grateful for the waitress who did the necessary closing of doors. A good menu with our choice being a Banting type good breakfast to get us going for the day. Can’t drink wine on an empty stomach. Our eyes Were directed to the Banting Croque Monsieur, but wanted an egg added. Unfortunately these came hard, despite an order for soft, so back it went. By the time the right eggs arrived the meal was nearly finished. Always the delay frustration sending something back. Other than that the food, service and atmosphere were good and a good choice which we would not hesitate to order again.
My wife did comment that the bathroom does not have a place to put down a ladies bag.
