This hospital is a house of horrors!!!
My husband was admitted at 14h00 with severe stomach pain.
He got admitted, but received pain medication after 20h00.
Blood pressure went up to 220/95...
Had to basically beg for someone to help him.
Theres a ton of people working here yet nothing is anybodies responsibility.
Patients screaming and crying for help whilst sisters sit and discuss their plans for the weekend.
Toilets dont get cleaned at all... A person actually slipped and fell on the disgusting floors soaked in urine.
Nobodies responsibility.
This place is hell, without the heat.

This hospital looks worse than deserted hospitals in horror or zombie movies. It isn't about it being dirty, it just hasn't been maintained well. For example, in the image attached, the floor has chipped away. I saw one door closed up with sellotape.
I was suppose to go to cardiology, they sent me to dermatology. Most of the receptionists and security guards look miserable. When you ask them questions, they mumble back to you. I eventually gave up on asking instructions and figured stuff out myself.
There needs to be more signs to point you into the right direction.

How to Start.
There is Drs and Staff that do try and Treat Patients.
But also a reasonable amount that Cares about Zero Percent.
Last week the Patient in the Bed that Had a Huge operation had a no 2 Accident in the Bed.
So also open Wounds that can get easily Infected.
He called a Nurse and asked her if she could help him and change the bedding.
He got up and left the room.
I was the only one of 6 patients in the room.
The Nurse came pulled the Linen of and left the bottom soiled linen on.
Pulled it Straight and covered it up with a new linen double.
Then made the rest of the bed.
She looked at me in my Face and I said that she new she could not do that.
Did not care and walked out.
When the Patient came back I showed him the Photos.
He proceeded to report this to 4 members of staff.
This was about 1pm.
The bedding was only changed at about 6 am the next morning.
Well Done !
Nothing Happened.
Like in Zero !!
I can still remember what it meant being a Client and a Patient.
This is not it.
Not even in the Same Univers !!
Just saying
Or what am I maybe wrong ??

Absolutely disgusting! Lifts hardly work, if ever. Staff are rude u0026 unhelpful. I have a muscular dystrophy like condition. I walk, but this hospital is so big, I need to use a wheelchair. As the hospital is so huge u0026 exceedingly confusing, an orderly was asked by a doctor to take me to a department as my mom, who was trying to push me u0026 is 82 was exhausted. The orderly told me to bring someone to push me next time because he didn't have time. I live 2 hours out of Cape Town u0026 rely on others to get me there u0026 back. Every time, without fail (despite being either first to arrive or very close to), I was always the last to be seen. Go into the Dr. u0026 am told (every time!) my file contents have been lost. This is a file that you have to pay for yearly. Keep in mind, this hospital has a computer network, so my info should be online. I was then subjected to being told about my condition as though it was the first visit. My condition is currently incurable u0026 untreatable, but there is a potential treatment being tested overseas. The Specialist hadn't even heard about it. I'll have to be dying u0026 comatose to ever go back.

My best friend has been laying in maternity for a week now where she gets starved everyday with the hope of getting her c-section, but they keep canceling and today she went all the way to theatre just to get wheeled out again with no baby. Visiting hours there was no one to let us in. I am so dissapointed. Mentally my friend is not doing too well.

My mother was there on Friday for a simple lung surgery, the nurse aid whose heavy set with bleached hair was extremely abusive in her time of need. When it was time to wash her they mocked her in their native language and made sly comments about her previous scars from other surgeries. Her and the nurse manhandled her throughout the process with no regard for her pain and they made sure to use force on her weak recovering body. They were obviously xenophobic and it was extremely unnecessary. She had to leave before her due date to escape them. It would be nice if they were held accountable for this treatment but unfortunately many share their sentiments towards foreigners. Best not pursue a career in healthcare if you hate foreigners that much.
