This Barcelos branch "Under new management" is an absolute dissapointment. It was a load shedding evening so I decided to get some take out for the family.

This chicken is literally the worst I've eaten ... it is absolutely DRY. I even requested them to make sure they put extra sauce but they didn't. The buns are absolutely rock hard even the birds are not eating it.

I would recommend Calistos at Eldo Square - Much better value for money and a meal you can actually enjoy.

Decided to try out Barcelos on Jean Avenue. When I got there I had to wait for service (initially only one person serving). The other person appeared and took my order (2 x Monday specials - 2 chicken prego burgers). Although the shop wasn’t busy, I had to wait a while for the burgers. Eventually got my order. I drove home (about 8 minute drive) and quickly opened it when I got home. Was I disappointed when I opened it. The portion size of the chicken was super small (see pictures attached). And for the food to be cold (not even lukewarm), is also pathetic. Barcelos, you won’t see me…..again!

Will never buy from this Barcelos again.The chicken was stale and had no sauce at all,the chips tasted so "old" and were smiling used cooking oil. The little that we tasted got all of us sick with running tummies the next day.No interest in people's health at all.

If I could give Barcelos Jean Avenue a negative rating, I would. I just received my food about 20mins ago, I order veri-peri and mild-per, the chicken tastes like it was just boiled, it has no sauce, it has no flavour and it was cold. Honestly speaking this is extremely disrespectful on their part and it’s not the first time

Not enjoying their swarma. It was heated for probably 2mins in the microwave making the bread break apart when picking up to eat. Not to mention the, exactly, 11 pieces of 2 by 2 centimeter cubes of chicken. What a delight at R50!! Then companies wonder why they go under...

Terrible. Ever since management changed, we get rotten food. The last time I bought from there I fell ill from nausea, stomach cramps and a running tummy. Thought it wasn't caused by their meals until we bought again earlier today and realized they sold us rotten rice. Luckily we decided not to eat it. Really disappointing.
