If you love spending lots of money to 'rough it', this is for you. If you need the basics, like cutlery to eat your food and a glass to gulp down that much needed drink after the shock of arriving here, you're out of luck. There's no kitchenware, and no warning that there's no kitchenware. The place is still under construction, so if you LOVE construction sites, this is for you. If you love being made to feel like you're unwelcome and a huge inconvenience, this is for you. If you love litter all over the place, this is for you. The pool would be nice, but it's not usable because of the construction, so there's that. The spa is quite nice, and we can't fault the non-management staff (they were very friendly and brought us some of the basics that we were missing).

So, if you're going to stress and manage crises anyway, you might want to stay home. Or take a chance - as long as you have a stiff drink on arrival (but remember your own glass, as they sure won't give you one!)

Super uncomfortable beds, a constantly flashing 'emergency' light in the room. Also the pool area had construction work around it which we were only told about when we showed up, so, basically spent 2 days holed up indoors as there's nothing else to do there. Also, take ALL your own cutlery, plates and cups as they won't give you any and won't tell you beforehand either. Total waste of time and money. Just awful.

My review is for suntaluna spa. My sister and I had the privilege of spending the day at the spa on their full day package. We were greeted with a warm welcome by Evelyn, the day started with a lovely breakfast of fresh fruit kebabs, museli, yogurt and a freshly baked warm muffins with butter and Jam. After a brief tour, we were given gowns and slippers and then the treatment began and I was transported to paradise. Evelyn and Joyce were our therapists for the day and they were amazing, best massage I've had in ages. They were sure to check on the pressure and went out of their way to make us comfortable. Then lunch, was so delicious, decent portion and for dessert quite easily the best tart I have ever eaten. The chef came to meet us to check we were happy. Then back to treatments, the treatments were executed brilliantly, didn't feel rushed. The setting is tranquil and I was at peace the entire time, pretty view and birds chirping we really felt like time stood still. It was such an incredible day, we will be back and I would recommend to everyone as an experience not to be missed. Thank you to all who made our experience so memorable.

The place is beautiful and well kept, unfortunately we feel that the place was a bit expensive for the experience held.

We booked a couple getaway (as advertised) and on a Saturday night , and the spa had kids playing and screaming in the indoor spa pools where treatments where being done - as far as I know children are not allowed in spas. The more you try to relax the more the children were screaming. I expressedy dissatisfaction to the lady doing our treatments several times, and she didnt seem to understand that we were there to relax and enjoy our massages and not there to experience shouting children while having relaxing spa treatments.

She just said I don't know mam... eventually after 2 hours I couldnt any longer and asked her to call the manager , but by then we were already upset and disappointed and the noise just continued.

The manager saw us post our treatments and told us she chased the kids away... but by then it was too late.

In the evening there was a lot of music and people partying till after 23h00 and really not what we expected, we came to relax and it seems like a tranquil place however I wouldn't call this a wellness spa rather just a family resort.

The food was good and tasty, very good rooms and clean.

To pay R3500 for one night and not have a peaceful time is just disappointing... maybe its in the week its more tranquil and peaceful...

When we arrived at the property we met noone, no guard at the gate, we could see that the property is neglected, no sign of gardening or any maintenance.
The "chalets" reminded me of my grandmother's village, from 1954, not in a good way. I would also estimate the chalk color used to blend well when the grass was kept green but now ????
We went into our rooms, no mat by the door, meaning everytime we we outside and back in we carried dead grass.
We asked for a two pin adapter, you said you would send someone with it, noone arrived.
The only highlight was the pool. The kids enjoyed playing in there. There were three wooden pools chair and 2 plastic ones dirty with bird poop and dust. Parts of the pool floor felt slimy.
Unfortunately the playing area consists of two machines. Both rusted and dirty.
Throughout our stay random people who l assumed stayed or worked in neighbouring plots we literally just passing through the property close to where our kids were playing. Definitely not staff because like l said we met noone officially. Great concern and security risk. The property is not secure at all.
The property is advertised as self catering. Please specify next time that no kitchen or utilities are provided.
After our first night, the sheets were not changed the next morning. The cleaner just mopped the floor, no soap was replaced
Please remove resort from the property name

Getting to know Hanita and her husband was a blessing. We were fortunate to have our wedding at their venue, the staff are all very respectful and the place is beautiful and very relaxing. My husband and I regret not finding this place sooner. And I know nt shonalanga valley resort will forever be a place close to our hearts.

Excellent service, excellent food and the spa treatment was fantastic. We really enjoyed our stay at N'tshonalanga and will recommend it to anyone. A weekend away to N'tshonalanga leaves you feeling like a new person, relaxed and renewed.
