Big joe in berea opposite bluff meats is the closest to my place. Very quite but the service from the guy and lady that works there is very poor, today they sold cold, very dry and burnt chicken.. guy that operates the till is very rude, I prefer one in Davenport square and berea centre… they sell fresh food

Got food poison from their shwama at Midday Mall. I bought a full chicken and now scared to give it to my kids since myself and my wife got food poison from their shwama that we ate while we were at the mall. Still have stormach cramps. Think we will have to throw away the chicken which is money. I will never recommend this place to anyone

Exceptional food at Big Joe's Durban CBD, great customer service. During lunch times regular customers don't stand in the line. Ladies working there are always full of life, thank you for loving your jobs

I have tried their burgers and am hooked on their chicken family meal. Big Joe's represents good value for money, their food is tasty, and service is reasonably quick considering everything is freshly prepared.
I really like their peri peri sauce, however I feel that they do not provide enough. 1 sachet no matter what you buy, should be addressed. A nice alternative in the area ????????

I am never buying food at Big Jo’s in Davenport square Durban. I bought a burger today which was suppose to be a beef burger, just when I started eating it, my first bite I felt something very tough and I stopped to look what was it, only to find it’s a chicken bone. Then I opened it to find a clean (by clean mean it look as though someone chewed the meat off of it) bone in the garnish. I was disappointed yet disgusted. I packed and took it back to show them in the shop. When I arrived I asked to speak to the manager on duty and the guy the lady showed me didn’t pay much attention and called another one, who opened it and asked if I wanted another burger or my money back, I told him I want none of those, I just want them to be careful in future when preparing food. He then turned and said there’s no way there can be a bone in the burger and he instigated that I put it there myself. I was shocked. I told him he’s more stupid than I thought. I still cannot believe his behavior.

Had a chicken schwarma, a bit too much sauce, other than that very tasty..... If they put just the right amount of sauce i would give them 5 stars..... But that being said, you cant beat the prices. If you walk in with R20 you will walk out with a full stomach and IMO thats worth the visit
