I would most certainly not consider this a 5 star boutique hotel if one of the measures is basic hospitality... I emailed ahead of time requesting an early check in on the day of arrival and received a response stating they will do their best to accommodate me, they then never contacted me prior to arrival. We arrived at 1pm an hour early for check in and mentioned that we would like an early check - this was met with a No sorry we cannot assist. I then mentioned that I had enquired earlier and that nobody had contacted me to which the receptionist simply ignored my comment. We then decided to have a cocktail while we wait, needless to say it took them 30mins to make the worst cocktails I think I've ever tasted. We then tried to check in at the 2pm mark which was met with, sorry your room is still being sanitized and we will let you know when it is ready. Needless to say we were late for the function we had travelled for due to the terrible hospitality and lack of ability to make an effort to accommodate us. We ordering up some coffees in the morning and based on these and the previous days cocktails we decided to skip the breakfast included in our booking and went to an alternative location for breakfast. Thank goodness the rooms, specifically the beds are comfortable and clean and the views are pretty beautiful otherwise this would have been a 1 Star from me.
