Hood Point Lighthouse

The Lighthouse is a spectacular place to view. However it is closed in and you will have to get permission by the Lighthouse keepers to go in and touch or walk around it. This is due to vandalism which is understandable. However you can come very close without having to go into the grounds. Ive had a first hand experience as my father in law lives there and maintains the Lighthouse.

We always wanted to see what it looks like from inside a lighthouse, my family loved the experience! Hood Point is very well kept and has nice safe parking.

Though all reviews and notices say "visitors welcome", sadly this is not the case. Upon arriving their within the stated open hours, one is met with a closed gate and a rude gentleman over the intercom who abruptly answers "NO" when asked if they are open. Not worth it.

My kids stay right at the gate of the light house on the golf course and is still a amazing thing to see the all the Graves around the light house very impressive grave stones from long ago

While this should be a major attraction in theory, it isn't in a well kept area and the entrance is through a shabby graveyard. But I'd never been to a lighthouse and I found climbing up and see it and the view amazing.
