Absolutely chaos.
The list can go on forever. After an attempted robbery I landed up here for almost three weeks. I had a completely broken, dislocated and my twisted elbow. Further known as a terrible triad break.
*Took more than 38 hours to get a bed assigned in a ward. Landed up sleeping and waiting in the ER area with nothing but my wits. If I left I was told I would lose any space and wait again when I return.
*Certain nurses treated us like animals with threats and rude behavior. No regard for human life or the job at hand.
*Pain killers where a luxury and most of us, especially in the ER waiting extended times for a bed had to adure constant pain.
*toilets in the ER area so dirty, full of blood and vomit on the floor and no toilet paper or toilet seat.
*Food served cold for most meals, same menu served over and over during the time there.
*No hot water in shower in ward. Forced to bath bed side in a small basin of most times cold water.
*theft of person stuff scary and a constant worry.
*cleaning staff very rude and forces you to either wake up or move without consideration.
*Doctors doing check up are scares. No real face to face time at all.
*reception desk staff unworried and uncaring, sending you in any direction to just be rid of you.
*building itself is dirty inside and out and need maintenance urgently.
I understand that the system is under stress and short staffed all across the board. However everyone suffers and gets treated badly. I also understand the staff are unhappy, however the need to realize it's not the fault of the patients.
