Took 45 minutes to get a simple meal. The chicken in my Sesame Chicken salad was overcooked and very dry and chewy. The salad also barely had any greens with it. The price for the meal was too much based on the quality. The highlight was the little ramekin of jelly beans they gave us with the bill. The atmosphere is nice which makes you think the food is going to match but it doesn’t.

Should have realized that it wasn’t worth staying for a meal as when we arrived and sat outside on the far left , the owner told us he wasn’t doing table service at that table even though we had a stroller and a dog so there was much more space on the pavement there than where he put us. Ordered a chicken burger and a beef burger. Very average food, not worth the price and the chips were so soggy. Gave the owner some feedback about the chips after he asked how it was , his response was …,” that’s the way the chef makes them…. “!!

I have been at this establishment twice....Food was horrible and one of the owners has a mean demeanor and likes talking down to his employees and lashes out on customers at times. He seems to struggle with an anger temperament.
Not worth a visit when you in Hermanus. Unless you are looking for ways to ruin your holiday.

Very cool place and awesome setup, they are on the main road and a decent stop if you are travelling through Hermanus

A firm favorite when in Hermanus. Our family has not been disappointed on any of our visits, whether sitting down to breakfast or lunch. Friendly service, tasty Mediteranean inspired dishes, followed by scrumptious cakes, will have any discerning foodie returning for more.

We loved this little gem! The decor is calming and classy. The manager and waiter are super attentive. The food was most delicious and arrived in no time. And not to forget the best milkshakes in town! This must be our favourite restaurant in Hermanus.
The complaints in the reviews are really puzzling. Conor Young clearly has no sense of humour.
And for a husband and wife team to both give one star reviews for the same experience (I guess the salad was not exactly the way she makes it at home), is so petty and rather mean spirited. Then there was Stefano de Koker that recons the waiter was great, but the service was terrible. Is the waiter not the one serving him?? Thank goodness we didn’t take these reviews (that are all void of actual, useful information) seriously. It would have deprived us of a wonderful experience.

Disappointing meal. The waitron was friendly, but the food was bad and that is why we go to a restaurant. It was not the worst food I have ever had, but it was well below average. I got a sandwich and my wife got the sesame chicken salad. There were a few other tables already eating and it took over 45 minutes to bring out our food. After half an hour we were told it would be 5 more minutes and still we waited. The sandwich was meh, but my wife was very upset by her salad. I tasted it because she said it was awful. The chicken was overcooked and tough with a bitter taste possibly from the scorched sauce. It had become very dry and stringy. There was a tiny bit of lettuce, part of an avo, a couple of cherry tomatoes, red cabbage, and a few cucumber slices. No dressing and not much food. It looked more like a side salad at other restaurants. For R129 she had expected a decent salad. It would have been disappointing even if it cost R40. There are so many great restaurants within walking distance that I don't see how they will last. Betty Blu, the restaurant previously in this space, was great, but closed down during the pandemic. We will not be going back again.
