Hornbill House Self Catering Accommodation

My family and I had a great stay at Hornbill, and will definitely go back. The accommodation was clean, spacious and included an indoor braai. The location was perfect for us, as we love to visit the wine farms on the Hemel en Aarde road. The market at HermanusPietersFontein (ideal for a Sat morning breakfast) is also within walking distance of Hornbill.

We had a great stay at Hornbill. It is a great place, in a good location with all of your necessities nearby. Everything you need for a short break or longer holiday is provided for you. The unit was clean and beautifully decorated. Would definitely recommend Hornbill for both business and leisure.

Spacious, comfortable room and a wonderful host that goes the extra mile

I spent one night here on a work trip and the only thing I'm sorry about is that it was just one night. I will definitely be back. The room came as a pleasant surprise. It is very spacious, with a basic kitchenette and a comfortable sitting area for watching TV. It is sparkling clean, with quality white cotton bed linen and a mosquito net.
The location is perfect within easy walking distance to the 24 hour Engen shop and a few good restaurants and breakfast spots across the road.
John is a wonderful host who responded to messages timeously, and understands hospitality. When I explained that I had a bakkie load of photography equipment with me, and no energy to schlepp it upstairs to my room, he generously offered the use of his personal garage. Thank you, John! Hospitality like this makes such a difference.

As other comments/reviews of this location has stated, the outside appearance is definitely outshined by the inner "beauty". Our accommodation was definitely more than expected. Unit 5, with 1 large bedroom, king sized bed, and 2 single beds for the kids, off the kitchen, was spacious and practical for our needs. Large shower/toilet area. The kids loved the fact that they could chill on the bed and still have a conversation with us, whether we were in the kitchen or lounge. The indoor barbeque area was welcomed with the rain pouring down outside.
The only downside of Unit 5 was the wooden floor of the unit above, but didn't spoil our weekend.
Definitely a home -away-from-home type of place and definitely a place we'll visit again.

my husband and I stayed for 2 nights in the King studio and 2 nights in the One bedroom apartment. The quality of the towels was disgraceful as was the bath mat. The one basin in the apartment could not be used as it was almost in the shower and the floor after showering was completely under water.

We visited your coffee shop yesterday u0026 were horrified that you do not have a ramp facility for disabled u0026 elderly people in need of such facilities especially in a place like Hermanus with a large population of elderly people. Very uneven surface in the outside area. Despite these limitations, food was great

Such a cool place to stay. Location - Close to everything that matters in around Hermanus..beaches, mountains and wine farms. Staff - so friendly and helpful. Self catering facilities - neat and everything you need is provided. We have had a amazing time here. Thank you!
