So good we went back again. Coffee shop is gorgeous with excellent coffee (choices of blends and oat milk available, always my criteria ????). Cafe food was stunning. As a vegan I hardly ever get choice so it was very exciting to get a very tasty Vegan orange almond croissant fresh out of the oven and a build my own breakfast (potato rosti, avo, tomatoes, spinach, scrambled tofu). All the usual non-vegan breakfast favourites available too and the bakery outside also gorgeous. As is the very cute tree-lined, peaceful street with art galleries and book shop, very quaint. Top notch service was the icing on the cake.

Our first time at this restaurant, with beautiful outdoor seating in a quaint little courtyard under the shade of a gorgeous big tree. Intriguing statues give it an arty feel.
We ordered the flourless dark chocolate cake, which was delicious but sadly, due to load shedding we had to forego the cappuccinos. Service was friendly but slow to start. We waited for 10 minutes before asking to be brought a menu and then a further 15 minutes passed before we flagged down a waitress to be able to place our order.
Would like to experience this place again without loadshedding.

The food here is exceptional. Their Cheese and tomato pastry is absolutely incredible. The coffee is also great. One of my favourite things to do in Hermanus. Cannot recommend strongly enough

Go get a pastry at the bakery side and walk over to the coffee side for the best coffee you have ever tasted in your life! I mean they literally change the grind according to the weather to get the correct espresso extraction. I have heard that is the way to do it but never found a place that does until now.

The spot as well in Hermanus. Feels like you are in a different country.

We spent our annual ladies weekend in Hermanus this weekend and as always it was a great and made more special by our visit on Saturday to this beautiful courtyard deli. We were spoilt for choice and the owner brought us some of her new bakery additions to her already great selection, she makes the best croissants and pastries! On our departure from Hermanus we made a point of having breakfast at this wonderful restaurant and it didn’t fail to impress. The service was great and so was the breakfast. Thank you. I will definitely be back!

One star is being kind. We went to the restaurant with high expectations being recommended by a family member and were completely let down. We were excited to experience the tasty looking food and good service but this did not happen. We waited ten minutes and the waiter still hadn’t even come to ask our drink order. We tried to flag her down and she brushed us off saying she would come later, she was too busy attending to the few other tables. When she finally came and took our orders she apologized but it wasn’t enough. She came back after five minutes to tell us they were out of stock of all vegan food. As a place that advertises vegan options this is not acceptable. As a vegan it is the only thing I could have so we told her we were walking out and the service was as non existent and she simply nodded and left. The owner came to speak to us and while she was doing so the waiter kept interrupting us and speaking to the owner as we were speaking to her. Eventually she walked away after we told her how rude she was being and the owner said they were very busy, but despite having only a few tables most of the restaurant was empty. This isn’t an excuse for bad service, the restaurant should have enough staff to deal with the load and if they couldn’t handle a few tables I can only wonder how bad the service must be on an actually busy day. We left very disappointed and extremely angry with the lack of service. We didn’t even get to taste the food because of how terrible the service was. Reading the other reviews there are countless mentions of terrible service and people walking out and the owner making no suggestions or promises to improve this huge problem. They are clearly losing profit, reputation and customer loyalty by this massive problem. I feel they have a lot of potential, but unless they improve this problem, they will continue to spiral downwards. I don’t understand why the owner isn’t actively working to improve this problem. Instead the owner is replying to other peoples reviews telling them they are attentive and the reviewer must have got the wrong restaurant they need to wake up and accept the facts to make a massive improvement if they want to have a restaurant with a good reputation.
