I stayed in Hermanus for 2 years and unfortunately I only found this Gem ???? in my last 6 months. If I knew then what I know now I would have been weighing in at 5000kg by now.

The food is absolutely amazing if there was a 6 star they would get it from me. I've never had a disappointing moment.

You can pre-order and just collect.
I recommend if you are In Hermanus make this a destination for a amazing lunch and if you are comming back to cape Town bring a bra a Gatsby my China.

Bought XLarge chips, wow it was the best slapchips I ate in a very very very long time. It was enough for 3 persons. Friendly service and open mostly till after midnight. The prices are very good, 500ml Coke in glass bottle for only R10-00. They are famous for their Lamb curry ????, will try it tommorow.

The staff are friendly. The food was good and generous portions too. Seems the community of hermanus enjoy the food too as there were many regulars.

Nice clean shop. Well stocked with a lot of imported good. Food was a bit bland but the portions were fairly generous

Takeaways before 6pm. Their calamari I think is 5 star. At about + or - R70. Their hake is not bad either. Many customers just come in and order cheap takeaway chips, which also seems good.

Village Food is an institution in Hermanus. As a young lad, I was introduced to Village Food via my grandmother who lived in Hermanus at the time. We used to get fish u0026 chips take-aways and walked over to the benches by the cannon at the old harbour; eating steaming hot chips and simply the best fish and chips in town. Roll on a few years to student days and we were queuing to buy late night burgers with a lovely chutney sauce. In December 2021, I will be returning to Village Foods with my UK family to experience, well, Village Food Halaal. Try it when you are in Hermanus - support them.

Well, this was the best curry we ever had! What a gem! We had lamb breyani, lamb curry and rice and a chicken salomi. Spicey but so full of flavour. We will definitely refer people there and go back every time. Packaging and store was neat, service was fast and quality was top. Ask them about their spice selection too.
