We arrived just before the lunch time rush. At that point there was not enough tables. We were asked to wait a few minutes. During that time a new table was quickly set up and we were seated.
The seafood was great value for money. The sushi was a bit disappointing regarding flavour and technique. Service was quick and our waiter was on top of things. Due to the demand for tables every thing was done a speed and as a result the whole meal felt rushed.

Overall good experience but would book a table next time.

Visited Fishmonger Illovo while I was visiting Johannesburg, South Africa. The food was outstanding, great ambience, great food presentation, very friendly service, great menu and good selection of wines. We ordered salmon, grilled kingclip and prawns. Loved it. Highly recommend it.

Never fails to provide top class service and food...Wild Oysters recommended and did not disappoint. Seabass outstanding. Very classy restaurant not to be missed.

This extremely busy eatery has great atmosphere. The food is good but not exceptional. The waiter are just all over the place and seem like they are running to death. I gave my order with very special instructions and initially it was turned down for no reason, I then persisted as I was ordering one of the most expensive dishes and I had had it made a month ago exactly as I liked it.
Eventually it arrived but no where near the previous experience. I asked a manager to fix it, after fifteen minutes it was fixed, and very enjoyable. But the whole experience was off putting.
So... again the actual food would get a 6.5, the atmosphere a 9.5 and the service on this visit an 8.

The very best restaurant in the whole of Johannesburg. If not, South Africa.

Delicious food, excellent service, beautiful decor, spotlessly clean environment.

An outstanding dining experience!

Always great food, service. Went for celebration lunch and as usual not disappointed. Highly recommended
