Goodness, I don’t even know where to start. I wish I could give a million star rating!
A huge, massive thank you to Everyone at Genesis!!
From the first moment my husband and I stepped foot into genesis we were greeted by bubbly knowledgeable receptionists who helped us make our appointments, thanks to Cecilia who made sure of our appointments, with Sr Denise! we were well taken care of by Sr Denise from the first appointment all the way to our 6 week post check up, thank you so so very much for being so amazing and accommodating no matter how many questions and concerns we had, but especially for all the advice and tips I Still use them and baby is thriving.
A huge huge huge thank you to Daisy, seriously I cannot thank you enough, who walked my husband and I through every step of labour and delivery, very supportive and so so kind and informative, I know there was another lady in the room for delivery unfortunately I didn’t get her name but thank you to.
Thank you to the gorgeous ladies who tip toed around us to clean the room as to not disturb us, you are a star! Thank you to those who cooked and brought us those delicious meals. Thank you so much very to the pediatrician Dr B, you are so kind and real gem! Thank you to all the in-house staff at Genesis, it truly was an amazing experience from antenatal to birth and postnatal, we feel so loved so welcomed every time we’re there, so well prepared and most importantly we were supported and well informed every step of the way.
I thank all you hard working wonderful ladies for the best birthing experience. Should we have another baby I will definitely be back and I honestly will not stop recommending Genesis.

Had the best experience here! The staff where all great and the environment really the best you can ask for. So comfortable and tranquil. I ended up with an emergency c-section and the team that helped me was the best I could have hoped for! Still gave me the best natural experience I could have asked for! Thanks so much! Can highly recommend to anyone looking for alternative birthing options that the traditional hospital.

My stay at genesis was a good one, I love their private rooms and the fact that you can be with your spouse 24/7. I must say that this has been the most fulfilling experience, giving birth naturally with my spouse present. My midwife sister xoli makabane was amazing from the start. She is good at what she does and is highly knowledgeable. She helped me with my VBAC with the baby weighing 4kg. My Labour was short and there were no complications whatsoever . I still cannot believe that I gave birth naturally. I used to dread it. But thank God for places like genesis and their midwifes????????.I just didn't like the food, that's why 4 stars.

My midwife Gail was rude and unprofessional. She made my birth experience aweful and I wouldn’t recommend her at all.
The hospital staff weren’t helpful and didn’t go out their way to tend to me, the nature of this hospital isn’t very helpful.
I am glad I had the opportunity to give natural birth at Genesis and thankful for the time and that my husband could be with me during the Covid time last year.
Dr Mia is fantastic.

I would like to take the time to rave about the Genesis Clinic. Very rarely do you find a place that meets your expectations fully, the Genesis Clinic done that for me. I hoped for a natural birth but ended up having an emergency c-section a week ago, despite my birth plan not going accordingly, i still had such a positive birthing experience.

The maternity care provided by both in-house u0026 support staff is exceptional. All beneficial services to mum and baby were available to me and explained.

Sr Ruwaida Moola was my midwife for both my babies and she is absolutely wonderful, she was so supportive throughout my pregnancy and more so when i went in for the surgery. I would highly recommend her services.

The facility,on-duty staff, room and even the food was amazing. The support staff associated with the Genesis are equally professional.

Post my discharge the services of Sr Dee was required, she provided me with home based consultations to attend to my baby who had Juandice. She was also absolutely amazing. She went above and beyond and helped me and baby achieve a proper breastfeeding techniques. The support after leaving the hospital was really appreciated and made a remarkable difference for me.

I would highly recommend the Genesis clinic and the support staff.

Finally a hospital for family that is wanting to have a natural home away from home delivery experience. We chose the in house midwife option. Antenatal and postnatal we were educated and guided by Denise. The knowledge helped us to make educated best practice decisions regarding the arrival of our latest family member. During delivery we had experienced caring thoughtful midwives that were focused on the safe delivery of the baby. They guided and directed the delivery in such a way that we never felt out of control.
There is an option for a private midwife if that is what your choice is.
We made use of the service of a doula which I recommend as it allows the birth partner the opportunity to support the mom but can take a break when needed but not leave the mom unsupported.
The room has a is homely feel to it. Big shower and bath if you want to use water as a pain relief method or for delivery. The beds are king sized and not like a hospital bed at all. There is a fridge and plenty of storage for a family to be comfortable for a few days. There is access to fresh air with small private garden areas from the room. Meals are typical hospital food grade, some meals were nicer than others.
Safety wise Genesis has everything to keep you safe. Pediatrician on site is friendly and helpful. The midwife delivery has to be approved by an obstetrician and there is a theater available if a natural delivery changes to a Caesarean section.
I assisted my daughter with her delivery and I only wish I had had similar options available when I was having my children 25 years ago.

Absolutely love Genesis! Birthed there multiple times. The facilities are great. The rooms are immaculate, offering a serene bedroom-feel birthing environment. All the rooms have a bathtub with a sitting spot for water births. The staff and midwives are highly skilled and I love the flexible visiting hours (u0026 family friendly - immediately after birth, siblings could meet in the recovery room which was very special for us). In the downstairs private units (cost slightly more), dads can sleep over for the whole hospital duration and will be provided with meals. You can pay for extras. Genesis also assists with applying for a birth certificate on your behalf before you leave and available to pick up to Genesis within days. They have additional support services like a sonographer (Maryke Killian), spa (Tsholo Bless) u0026 baby wellness clinic (Dr Bopape paediatrician and ongoing antenatal u0026 postnatal classes offered by the hospital (from skin to skin to birthing positions and baby care post birth) on the go for parents to attend! They are big on an empowering birthing experience. Love it.????
