Simply awesome - trendy, welcoming, buzzing with great music and drinks deals.

My friend and I stumbled upon this bar and met his local friend for an evening session. The place was packed with hip young locals relaxing to an excellent soundtrack of classic hip-hop and Ru0026B, as well as some modern EDM and house mixed in too. There were 2 for 1 deals on cocktails until 1900, which we certainly took advantage of! It was an awesome place to relax and soak in the local scene. The rear terrace is the place to be, but seating is limited so arrive early to get an area. The food menu also looked very appetising.

Love the vibe. The food and cocktails are actually very good. Get there early to avoid getting stuck at the door or bar.

The Great Dane is a very chilled spot in the heart of braamfontein which is a predominantly student/young professional area. The think most amazing about Great Dane is the open chilled area at the back where u can relax or go dance inside

Bad customer service. Staff is unfriendly and very rude. Bad music and poor food quality. I don’t recommend.

Awesome place.
Drinks are reasonably priced. The music depends on which DJ is playing.
However there is an indoor and outdoor area so that's enjoyable
Also if you look closely the floor has 5cent coins decorating the entire dance floor. It's awesome and detailed!

Visited the place at night and it was fun, the music that was being played was fantastic and the outside area provided a nice breathe of fresh air after dancing and the atmosphere was very vibrant.
This is a bar I recommend going to if you looking for to go to a club without the whole "club type" environment
