The park is the only formal public green space in a township of Ivory Park. When it opened in 2007, it received a LivCom (International Awards for Livable Communities) Award from the United Nations Environment Programme. Besides park benches and picnic and braai facilities, the park features a revamped entrance, a state-of-the-art children's play area with rubberised surfaces, an outdoor gym, fitness track, and mini-soccer pitch. Its one of the largest Parks within the Ivory Park area, it is host to big events such the kick off of the Famous Tembisa Philly's games every 16th of December, Kids Colour Frenzy, Nkululeko's Comedy Picnic, Tsa Kasi Buffet and many more. The City of Johannesburg needs to improve and do better in maintaining the park, put a mash fence around the park fix all broken park equipment, fix the toilets and taps in the park and provide grass for the larger soccer patch and provided proper lighting surrounding the park area.

Even though it seems a little neglected, it is one of the places you can go to ease your mind. Either for fresh air in the morning or to unwind in the evening or play date with kids. I mostly use it for my morning exercise. It has so much space and it allows me to do all I want.

It's a very beautiful park, chilled and lively atmosphere, good for children to play around

You can braai, relax and kids friendly. Good for the whole family.
