Good afternoon:

The service was very poor, shockingly poor,i.e no cleaning of the room no:6, bed left unattended.I slept in many hotels lodges u0026 guesthouses in the country, and had never seen anything like that even in instances were service was poor.

I booked a room and from the moment I arrived, the host was giving off bad energy. I asked for the keys to my room so I could lock my belongings away incase I wanted to leave the room for some time and he refused to give them to me stating he would lock and open the room for me everytime I needed to access it. he went on to say, in the case I wanted to leave the lodge for any reason I would have to be back by 9pm that night or else he would lock me out.this obviously didn't make sense because I paid for the room in full. His explanation was they don't give gate keys to people sleeping over night. He decided to finally give me a room key and after an hour my girlfriend and I got hungry and decided to go out and get food.he went on to tell me about his 9pm rule again, we kindly asked if 10 pm would be too late so he decided to raise his voice at me. I asked him to point out where this 9pm closing time rule was stated but obviously their website did note state this. Iv stayed at plenty lodges and the idea that I have to be back befor 9pm is unheard of. The host has zero people skills, the sheets had marks on them, the bedding was torn,the TV was broken and there was no soap in my room. I demanded my money back and didn't stay the night.. I rate it my worst hospitality experience, ever.

Positive: We had easy access to the property as the host offered us a remote control for the gate.. Negative: It was very hot and there was no air conditioner and the fan light was not working. Even though the sheets were clean, I can't say the same for the blanket on top of the bed. The host was not friendly, didnt even greet us in the morning. There was no fridge in the room.....

Positive: Location was good, peaceful on Friday, check in was quick.. Negative: There were no hand sanitizer in the room. The first day I had terrible parking as the cars weren't parked correctly in the parking lines. We only had 1 bath towl in our room and there were 2 guests on the booking. No tea spoon was provided for the tea and coffee facilities in the room. TV is very small. Very loud neighbors on the Saturday night and early Sunday morning..

Positive: Very good location. Staff was very nice. Great value for money. Negative: Cupboards were a bit dusty. No shampoo in the bathroom..

Positive: Loved everything. Especially the hostess. Very warm and kind lady. Most definitely enjoyed my stay. Was like home away from home. Kinda miss them lol.

I stayed two times at Mzanzi Rock and I wouldn't hesitate to come over and over again. The landlady and her husband do their very best to ensure their guests' comfort and safety. The garden outside is lovely if you have children. The rates are affordable, the breakfast is delicious. The cleanliness of the rooms is spotless and the internet is fast. I would recommend the guesthouse for a short or a long stay.
