What a stunning heritage this place exudes. Great service, reasonably priced. Very informative and well read talk by member, Harald Sitta, king of local opera and a great historian. A must visit for anyone who enjoys exploring local historical buildings. I'll be back!

Great to be pampered. Probably my companion and the beautiful venue are the reasons. With my mindset that nothing could go wrong because I had the greatest company, I am being kind in my review!
Have to fault a few things - 3 out of the wines we asked for (on their wine list) they did not have and the medium rare sirloins ordered came more medium and parts well cooked, than medium rare. Not on for an establishment of this nature. ????
The servers were absolutely wonderful though, despite the establishment's shortfalls.

An excellent experience in the heart of Joburg. Service is prompt and efficient, pricing is very reasonable and the atmosphere in a place with so much history and tradition is superb. Management team and staff have done a great job. Really worth the membership considering how novel a meeting space it is and all the options available.

This grand old building gives a wonderful experience of the era of the mining rush in Joburg, and it’s in great condition. Lunches and drinks in the magnificent ground floor bar open for non-members, book stores u0026 antique map gallery downstairs u0026 on the street facing side. Great functions u0026 events venue too.

An amazing building and a very good lunch at the longest bar in Africa. We also bought a book from the rare book shop in the basement and enjoyed the art and fashion gallery on the top floor.

Incredible part of South African history that everyone should have the opportunity to see. A step back in time that shows you how rich the history or our country is.
