They need to improve their booking arrangement and service. Had my birthday celebration there recently. Booked for 30 persons a month before the preferred date. Went there a week before the said date to discuss logistics. We wanted upstairs to have a little bit of privacy. They said great, everything was in order. We left. Got a phone call from the boss the next day, just to be told that they are moving us downstairs because there was a mishap on the booking and a larger group has booked the upstairs and they cannot accommodate us. Apparently, the guy that we were talking to did not tell the boss that there was a booking upstairs the same time that we booked and that he made a booking for the said larger group just a few days before. I thought it was just an excuse but who knows.
Because it was already too late to make other adjustments, arrangements and my invitation was also handed over weeks prior to the date and to avoid any more issues i just agreed to be downstairs. Businesses are struggling and I don't want them to also lose out. To make the long story short, we just dealt with the inconvenience. The boss offered to give us free Baklava for all our guests and we also threw in the turkish coffee with it, they agreed and arrangement were made.
The day came. The tables were set with fewer cutleries, that's fine. Food was great especially the mixed grill that we ordered. The service was slow. We have to chase the only one person that was serving us. When it's time for the dessert, the server told us that unfortunately they can only serve the Baklava and not the coffee because they ran out of it. My husband was upset. Tried to call and sent a message to the boss because he disappeared and left. No response. The poor server came again to tell us that the parents of the boss which were sitting there refuse to give us the pre-agreed complimentary baklava and turkish coffee. We don't mind paying for all of it but if the only reason they don't want to give us the coffee is because of that that is unfair. When my husband has finally got hold of the boss he just told us that we have an agreement and he will speak to his parents. Only then that the coffee became available. While all of this is happening i told them to serve the Baklava so that the guest can start. The Baklava was undercooked, they serve it in a plate with no forks or side dishes. The guests are eating it off their hands.
Meanwhile, the order was made again for the coffee at last, then the server came back to me. At this point he doesn't want to deal with my husband again because my husband at this point was cross. He then told me that there is not enough cup to serve the coffee. I just smiled at him and said, you better make a plan because my husband is already very cross. He then said okay, i will make a plan. Only then that the coffee was then served.
I've been coming to this restaurant for years but their service has gone downhill since then. Don't know if it's because of the pandemic or just lack of management. I still want to come back because i loved their food but never in a big way again.
