What a lovely and beautiful location. Stayed here with our best friends and we had adjoining cottages. It was really the most lovely atmosphere and venue we've been to in a long time. While not entirely wheelchair accessible at the cottages, it can accommodate ambulatory wheelchair users. The photos speak for themselves and breakfast was served tableside and was plentiful and delicious. Had the best time and will definitely be back.

Had a amazing stay at this lovely accommodation. They have such a lovely property and the extras such as the restaurant and the pool make the place even better. They have the most stunning rooms that are equipped with heaters and aircons really helped us beat the cold. I would recommend this to anyone visiting 10/10 thank you for having me

Absolutely loved it here! Beautiful farms in the surrounding areas makes for a nice walk in the morning. Rooms are really great. Heaters, aircon, Netflix. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay. And the hosts are really down to earth!

We will be back!

This review is long overdue.

Our original booking at the estate was for 4 nights - a relaxing bridging stay before returning to our home overseas. 4 days of rest, relaxation and exploring the beautiful surrounds turned into 12 days of rest, spoils, memories for life, inspiration and the most incredible hospitality at this family run estate.

I am South African. My husband American. We live and work on the Indian sub-continent. Work and family travel has afforded us tremendous travel opportunities, and we have yet to enjoy a stay as much as we have a De Leeuwenhof - for a number of reasons:

Hospitality. Hospitality. Hospitality.
We were always greeted with a warm, kind smile.
Daan and his family always made time to talk with us, guide us, make suggestions, and share life and community stories in the valley that they clearly love very much.
Our accommodation was clean and comfortable and made all the more special knowing that Daan and Stefan built much of the property extension themselves.
Breakfasts on the porch next to the pool were long, lazy, fresh and delicious.
The area is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful.
Best value for money.
10 out of 10.
Over the 12 days we came to know Daan, Anthea and Stefan as very warm, caring people who are actively involved in the community.
Daan leads the voluntary fire bridge.

Hosts and staff add a lot to the experience. We were so honoured to be made to feel like family over the festive season.

Expectations exceeded. Our stay was relaxing and genuine - the family is so kind and so trusting - and without being in your space, they are always available and eager to please. And to top it all, they put a wedding together for my sister and brother-in-law with 24 hours' notice.

Thank you Daan, Anthea and Stefan - Tim and I wish you, your loved ones and the staff, the very best for 2022 and beyond.

Warmest regards from the Indian sub-continent.

This was our first stay during our time in South Africa and we have already told Daan: they have set the bar real high! Outspokenly friendly, going out of their way to accommodate every need prior to us even mentioning it! Always a kind comment and face, delicious breakfast (freshly made omlette, yummy) and for us the most important: very open and kind with children (our children are 3 and 5). Our son is obsessed with firefighters and as Daan leads the voluntary fire brigade, they have two big fire trucks which they happily showed to our son. Usually children are viewed as unpleasant, but they interacted so lovely with ours, which we really appreciated!! Our room was perfect, always clean and nicely air-conditioned - we also loved the pool: nice to cool down after a day out in the sun. The dinner options were wonderful, highly recommend the steak: really heavenly!! Thank you to the whole team for the amazing stay, we will definitely be back and highly recommend for everyone to stay!

What an incredible experience we had, our first staying on a farm. The hosts, Daan and Anthea were so warm, gracious and accommodating. They went out of their way to make our short visit a memorable one for our entire crew of 17 people. The staff also took care to prepare our breakfast so that it is separate from non-halaal items. Daan and Anthea both took the time to take us on a walk about their farm and we could see how passionate they are about what they do.

Thank you for such a unique experience - one that I will never forget. Looking forward to visiting again.
