Stunning waterfalls. Great swimming spot. Not an easy trail, but not to difficult either. Go early. The trail is mostly in the sun. Therefore bring lots of water and sunscreen. Only have shade at the 2 waterfalls. The pools are great to cool off and swim at. Water is freezing though but perfect for a hot day.

Great experience. Its so serene out there. Lots of people on the trail makes it enjoyable to see everyone loving the hike as much. Little bit of advice wear proper shoes . The climbing is real. Make sure u are geared up with light great snacks do not carry heavy anything you will need to support yourself on the way. First aid kit is a must to have just in case. Start early and stay ahead of the sun. Rest well when u can. Time and pace yourself up the mountain and down.
Have a great hike.

Went the alternate route which was a stunner of a drive. And used the toll route when returning arrived around 10am.
Was windy when we arrived. Walked at a nice pase a light windbreaker would be good but when walking back it was great weather. 10k route there and back.
Chains require some focus and proper shoes are recommended for safety.

Beautiful waterfalls. This hike trail is not difficult in distance but the climbing is quite hard. You can however avoid the climbing and stop at the first small waterfall, but you are going to miss out on the spectacular waterfall and waterpool. Overall a very fun experience and will do the hike again.

Easy and beautiful track. Takes about 4 hours round way
You need to make an effort to climb to the second waterfall. But it's worth it.

What a beautiful hike! It is not a stroll in the park but also not too difficult, if you are fairly fit you should be okay, but be sure to have hiking shoes. A swim suit for a swim in the beautiful pool at the waterfall is a good idea. Also take a bag and pick up some of the rubbish on the way and let's make South Africa a little more beautiful. Please don't litter, an empty bottle is so much lighter than a full one. Take it home and recycle

Hiking the trail was a wonderful experience, I would suggest that you have at least done hiking previously before attempting this hike. We had a beginner in our group which meant we moved at a slower pace and took more breaks, but the hike was still doable. The best part of the experience is the scenery and waterfalls, where you can swim and jump from high rocks into the refreshing water after all that sweaty hiking. Be aware you need to book hiking permits online at the nature cape website, we were unaware of this and it caused some hassles. There is absolutely no braai spots or food places nearby, also no braai-ing allowed either so I would recommend bringing sandwiches along. Would NOT recommend bringing children.
