Had an amazing mothers' day breakfast at Lakeside. Delicious food at reasonable prices. Excellent service from owners and staff. Warm and friendly atmosphere on this cold Maritzburg day. On making a reservation the owner actually called me back when they missed my call, even though they were so busy. What incredible service!

Perfect place if you looking for something peaceful, the owner even gave out some bread too feed the ducks.
Make sure to bring your appetite, the portions are generous

To get there using taxis: Go to the New Rank and take a taxi to Midlands Mall (R12), get off at the Caltex Garage and go towards the Builders store the restaurant is next to the store.

Absolutely loved this cafe. Clean, and very relaxing. The tranquil lakeside view was another another bonus. But the highlight of my visit was the succulent ribs I had. They literally slid off the bone. My cocktail had a rather potent kick for a cocktail, but that's a story for another day. Would definitely recommend this spot.

A gem of the Midlands, this! Fantastic find, with beautiful views of the lake andwater feature, excellent and friendly service. We enjoyed our brunch.

First time I have been here and what a wonderful experience. The setting was really lovely, service very good and food excellent. What I really enjoyed was the menu had other than normal choices, such as lamb shanks and oxtail which is what our table ordered and it was cooked to perfection; so well done to the chef.
Ample parking available as well.
The only downside, if you can call it a downside, is a little traffic noise as the venue is not too far from the N3 highway, but this would not deter me from going back.

A little cold first thing in the morning, but staff are very accommodating and food is good.

Lovely Family Owned Restaurant.

Beautiful Lakeside view.

Owners very present on hand.

Thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast and menu had many of our favorites on it.

Well worth the visit
