I had a Transport assignment in Plk and I needed a accommodation for the night,that's how I ended up at this place.I tried a few other locations, including Meropa before settling on this one.Most accommodations in Plk were full since the beginning of July due to the influx of Miners and Truckers. Apparently the Miners are on course and business is booming for the Ladies of the night.Lake of Rest Lodge is a stone's throw away from Meropa Casino.After dropping my client off at the Casino I booked me in for the night and waited.The staff at the Lodge are Super friendly,the only drawback was that most of the staff only spoke the Presidential language but we managed somehow.The rooms are ok and standard.I however think adding meal options would greatly enhance the experience.
I was allocated a room that my friend used and was happy with.At first I thought there was a Ghost in place as it was so cold but in the morning discovered that there were Reeds nearby.Price was ZAR600,one hundred Rands more from the week before ,at the time of my visit.
