Had high hopes for this one but failed to deliver on so many levels.
Felt like staying at a school friend's spare room. Dusty, mixed bad of goods without a touch of class or character. Cluttered passage-ways full of trinkets belonging in a museum. Rooms were not as advertised and one could spend a lengthy time playing eye-spy with all the defects. The dining area reminiscent of a cheap Turkish restaurant.
We had very little to no communication. Had to figure out our way through to our room at night as the front door from which we entered was locked. Lack of ambient music meant we had to listen to the cackle of the inattentive staff who forgot to bring our toast after offering it. The breakfast was poor, bacon tasted strange and low quality. We were offered one option of an english breakfast, when asked if there's any vegetarian options there was a pause and explanation that the breakfast comes with sausages and eggs which came overdone.
The same staff weren't available when we were leaving to the point that my wife ran back to the kitchen to call one of them to open the gate for us to leave.
A two star guest house at best and certainly not a four star hotel. Disappointing and won't return.
