The location of Melvin Residence is of note as it is pitched on high ground and overlooks the whole city like a fortress. It is very close to the Union buildings actually a walkable distance in a quaint suburb. Which is also dominated by embassies.
The Victorian walls and Dutch style walls interposed together gives Melvin Residence a historic look. The furnishings in the main house bring you back in time and they have a homely feel. It is a home away from home.
The guests rooms have a modern touch to them which makes it a whole interesting experience.
The owner and host is the friendliest man I have ever come across. When we went there we were staying as students and somehow he made it a lot safer and catered for most of our needs.
