Overpriced. We stayed in the lion room, honeymoon suite. Room layout is very unpractical and odd. Had to keep ducking our heads to miss an oddly placed chandelier. Had to keep going to the big kitchen for cutlery. People were banging on the entrance door ten o'clock at night because no one was at reception. We had to open up for them. We heard them complaining about their room the next morning being dirty. Our room was tidy at least. Cleanliness, questionable. The toilet seat was broken. The bath is stained. The toilet outside the room was dirty. The next morning, early, the staff made such noise talking and laughing which we did not appreciate, especially since my husband wasn't feeling well. When I went to get a bowl and spoon the lady was very very friendly though. The bed we slept in was very comfortable. No issue there. If I paid R450 - R550 I would've shut my mouth and expect nothing more. But it was R1150 per night excluding breakfast. A few suggestions: update decor, revise layouts and remove unpractical furniture and fixtures, take the cleaning up a few notches, talk to a handyman about cleaning up some untidy building work, lower your breakfast prices (mugg and bean doesn't even have a breakfast worth R200), always have someone at reception or a number available where a staff member can be reached, always make sure the room is spotless when expecting guests, ask guests if there is anything else they need or that you can assist them with.
