The food is overpriced and underwhelming. Service is surly and tectonically slow. You will wait at least half an hour for absolutely anything: don't think a salad will save you. This is somewhere you eat if, and only if, you have to. Visitors to Knowledge Commons, be forewarned, and bring a lunchbox.

Actually the scones are quite good.

Staff are friendly, but service is ridiculously slow. I've been waiting 40 minutes for a burger that still hasn't arrived. Definitely not the place for a "quick bite to eat"

Edit: Total time to deliver 1 burger : 51 minutes.

Edit: 2 weeks later, another 45 minute wait for a burger. Never again. :(

Service was slow. We were there for a smallish function and had even specified our meals days before. Yet, we waited an hour to be served starters and another 45 minutes for mains. They also didn't have the dessert option I requested. Instead of informing me, all the other people were served their dessert, another half hour passed and only then did they come back to me with an alternative dessert. A total of 3 hours required for lunch.
Okay if you are only drinking coffee and you are two or three people. The food is fine.

Nice food. Outdoor deck is pleasant for a work lunch. This venue is within access controlled security of the CSIR so not easily accessible for the general public. Good venue for small conferences and meetings.
