I rushed my buddy today to the vet academic hospital after a minor accident. Though the waiting room was filled with canine-loving individuals, I was attended to swiftly. Within minutes, my buddy was observed and diagnosed. Though I had to wait for some time for the X-ray report and analysis, I’m glad that there were no major issues to worry about. He’s going to be fine! Thanks to Dr. Lieze van der Merwe and Marlene, the student doctor.

Rushed in on a Saturday with an emergency, it is a 2 hour drive to Op for us. It was a last effort to save a horse as we don't have access to equine clinics in our area.
The vets fought hard and tirelessly to save our boy, they treated us with absolute compassion.
Unfortunately our boy could not be saved but i know that it wasn't due to lack of effort and trying from the equine team. Thank you for fighting for him. I always recommend this top class clinic.

I am disappointed in them. After a referral as my dogs never get sick. I have spend in total 6.5 hours with them with my dog where they have done a sonar and many tests and could not tell me what is wrong with her. At first I had to hear it is maybe cancer and then they don’t know anymore. Gave me inflammation meds home. It is almost a week and a half later, yes my dog is better but the lump is still not gone.

If you have any concerns around your pet - this is where you take them. I had taken our large breed Africanis dog to two vets the past week and neither managed to diagnose babesiosis - which Onderstepoort managed to do. Caring, with good communication. Highly recommended.

1st world service!
We arrived close to midnight and felt totally safe.
Staff were busy yet attended to us almost immediately and were very sympathetic, efficient, friendly and professional.
The student examined and swiftly diagnosed our dog had Tick Bite Fever.
This was confirmed by the Vet on duty u0026 we were given an outline of the variability of the impact of the disease, of how it could possibly go with treatment and potential costs.
She was booked straight into ICU for treatment.
Follow up staff feedback and support was wonderful to the end despite that they are very busy.
Thank you Onderstepoort, - your service was like finding an oasis in a desert for me!
