Had a great time with the family. I suggest you arrive early as the queue can be long.

Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Have a bottle of water (this can be brought inside).

The facility is well taken care of and the employees are friendly, and professional.

They also have food kiosks and restaurants (I think their prices are reasonable).

Please follow the facility rules and have FUN ????

Great day spent at the zoo with the family. Kids had a fantastic time.

Grounds were clean and animals seem well looked after. Some enclosures were empty which was a bit disappointing but overall we had a great day.

All food vendors were open so that was great.

Lots of walking but worth it.

The Zoo is magical. It is a must for all children learning about animals. The fact that you are able to see the size and actual animal, is truly something each child needs to understand and experience. It was very quiet and we were the first parents there. We took our prams and it was an uphill and down hill. We walk through the entire zoo and it was about 8000 steps, so wear comfortable walking shoes. It does get hot yet it is very cold during the morning hours. Ensure that kids are well looked after because they can fall into certain pens. Some of the pop up eateries are closed but there and many bathrooms all over the property. I would hire a golf cart next time. There are many play areas for different sizes children. There is a gift shop at the entrance, safe parking (which you pay for) and children's programmes. It was a wonderful experience. Remember to leave at least 4 to 5hours if you want to see the whole property, have bathroom breaks and eat something.

This place was so much fun. You need to understand that you are going to a place where the animals are in their enclosures so there isn't a show for you to see but they are just chilling. Wear comfortable shoes as there is alot of walking involved. You can spend the whole day there and bring your own picnic. You can also order from the restaurant there. If seeing live animals is what you are looking for then this is the place for you.

The layout and the mapping is easy to navigate, vegetation is well maintained, the animals are well fed. But to be honest, I couldn't help but to feel pity for the animals because looking at them made me feel like I was watching innocent Men behind bars. There were two other Storks trying to stretch their wings with some flight but they couldn't due to the small size of the enclosure, it was truly sad. I'm glad my son got to see the animals up close but Zoos are not the way.

This was such an incredible experience. Beautiful grounds, phenomenal staff, well taken care of animals. The aquarium and Amazon center was such a surprise and so impressive. Plenty refreshment stalls everywhere. Stretch golf cart was very cool and worth the money. The safari truck is also so much fun with informative driver. We will be back! Thanks Joburg Zoo, we loved every exciting minute!

Always love visiting the Zoo, great outing for family even if you been there many times your entrance fee contributes to the upkeep of the place and animals. I advise you to start your journey early, Hire a golf cart if need be, and follow the map.... You can get really creative with photos.
